Introducing the Salish Sea Folk Arts Fest on Orcas Island, WA May 17-18, 2024 at Moran State Park.
2-3 hr sessions with experts, Friday and Saturday morning and afternoon.
Purchase tickets for festival, workshops, and parking passes (required).
Ala carte meal options to select for 1 or 2 days. Private or shared bunkhouse cabins.
Come celebrate the Salish Sea through folk music, dance, hands-on artisan crafts, poetry and nature walks at Moran State Park on Orcas Island. Enjoy great music, study with a master maker, learn a new dance, try your hand at a new instrument – or bring your own! Two days of festive activities offer something for all ages at this pop-up Makers Village of artisans and performers. Nature trails, waterfall, and lake activities nearby.
See demonstrations and try your hand at blacksmithing, printmaking, ceramics, wildcrafting, wood carving, fiber arts, drumming, singing and string instruments. Gain folk skills from food preservation and herbalism to boat and timber building, or welding to spinning to instrument making. And enjoy being surrounded by the forest, mountains, and Salish Sea in the Folk Festival Community.
By Ferry: Washington State Ferries have ferry boats running to Orcas Island every day; sailings are out of Anacortes. Ferries offer drive-on, bike-on, and walk-on options. This is a stunningly beautiful route through the dramatic San Juan Archipelago.
IMPORTANT NOTE: WA State Ferries opened a new batch of tickets on May 3rd, and another batch opens May 16-17, 2at 7am, 2 days before intended departure dates.

By Air: Kenmore Air flies out to the San Juans and Orcas Island from Seattle and there are rental cars available once you land. San Juan Air flies small planes out from Anacortes and Bellingham. It is possible to fly in to Seattle or Bellingham and catch a flight to Orcas, or the Bellair Shuttle offers reliable shuttle service from Seatac to the ferry doc in Anacortes.
On Island: There are taxi and car rental options if reserved in advance, if arriving with out a vehicle. We do suggest a vehicle to help reach dining and outdoor activity options.

Wonder Camps are all about hands-on learning and creative making that enriches your life. Lead by artists, musicians, writers, herbalists, and ecologists, Camp activities offer rewarding maker immersions for all ages across multiple creative fields including annual Folk Festival fun.
Guided 'Do It Yourself' instruction, fun group learning circles, and the beauty of Orcas Island all combine to rekindle your wonder and connection.
As a retreat experience for adults and families, the forests, lakes and sea surrounding our rustic old-time nature lodge are a great setting for Spring, Summer, Fall and Winter Camp enjoyment.
Orcas Island is north of Seattle in Washington, USA, accessible by car and foot ferry, air, and water taxi for visitors.

Enrollment includes options for workshops on Fri. May 17th and 18th, meals, full festival activities Saturday May 18th 12-9, and access to lodging and Moran State Park resources.

Four great Wonder Camp instructors joined the Imagine Festival to offer classes featuring hands-on music, writing and visual arts experiences. Located at the Doe Bay Resort on the east side of Orcas Island, Imagine is an annual festival of music, arts and wellness experiences with lodging options.
Folks registered for the Imagine Festival were welcome to join in these free classes to make and play a Didgeridoo, explore writing and painting in Journaling the Journey, enjoy island flowers and watercolor Still Life Painting, try wildcrafted Botanical Banner printing, and check out handcrafted Blacksmithing.
